Mama Glow - MY BODY IS A WONDERLAND.... _ EVOLUTIO Mama Glow - MY BODY IS A WONDERLAND....
_
EVOLUTION, AFFIRMATION + SELF-CARE. When you give birth to anything—whether it be a child, a new project, a book, or a movement—you come out on the other side with something you never had before. There is a price to pay for evolution. You leave behind parts of your old self and assume a new form that comes along with transformation. A caterpillar gives up its form with total faith that it will be reborn as a butterfly. Your soul requires such a shift when you become a mother.
_
POSTPARTUM SELF-CARE
Take care of yourself first, tune in to your needs on a moment-to-moment basis. When you align your body, mind, spirit, you not only set the tone for your day, but your personal practice can help you support others. Your actions speak of how important you view yourself—how much you love and honor your relationship with self.
_
Ignite your affirmation practice, write your new affirmations on the bathroom mirror, and place them on notecards around the house. Make time to do what you love and constantly check in with your body and spirit. Not just getting showers in on a daily basis (which is tough in those first few weeks!), I’m talking about reclaiming your relationship with your new body and setting new boundaries so you can remain well, balanced, and lit up with glow power from within!
_
Make time & space to reintroduce your contemplative practice. It may be different now that baby is here. Your feedings may become a perfect time to meditate with your baby in your arms or lap. Even still, find a way to sit for a few minutes each day, to realign with the divine and remember your own divinity. To make this ritual even more grounding, create a special place in your home where you can go to sit or lie down feel the feelings and look within. Be gentle, be easy and be kind to yourself. 💋
_
Affirm yourself and others who may need the encouragement. What are some affirmations you want to share? 🙏🏽Xo @mamaglow More inspiration - www.mamaglow.com or purchase the bestselling book, Mama Glow by @glowmaven

Mama Glow - Birth is our opportunity to hold hands Mama Glow - Birth is our opportunity to hold hands and dance with God. Birth is magical, spiritual, messy and beautiful. Birth is sacred, made holy by flesh. In birth you are meant to be held. To be swaddled, to be supported. That is your birthright. We evolved witnessing each other cross this threshold. We are meant to be seen, heard and have a deep sense of belonging. Birth is about remembering who you are. Its more about your vulnerability than it is about strength.

You made it. You did it. The baby is finally here.

Mama Glow - If you know us, you know we are always Mama Glow - If you know us, you know we are always on the hunt for solutions for our clients, expectant and new parents. Living in the city where our modes of mobility are primarily walking, biking, subways, taxis and Ubers it’s always a struggle to find the most elegant solution for transporting children. When you have a baby, you want products that are safe, effective and of the highest quality. One of the greatest challenges new parents face in NYC, or any urban center for that matter, is transporting your little ones.

Introducing our new favorite and elegant solution for family mobility, The Maxi-Cosi - Coral XP. It's a 3- part carrier system that makes it easy to travel with a newborn whether you drive, travel by Taxi, or you’re out for a stroll. It comes with an outer carrier shell that clamps into the base, and an inner carrier shell that separates and allows you to carry the baby with ease. The inner carrier has two modes of carry, what I call the "duffel bag carry", where you hold the grips like a bag, and the cross body carry - made possible by attaching an adjustable flex-strap that allows you to wear the carrier. In this position you can gaze down at the baby with ease while protecting your spine and distributing the weight. And the best part is the inner carrier only weighs 5 pounds- that light y’all!

This carrier system is game-changing and I am excited to be gifting one in the coming days, stay tuned!

Mama Glow - Birthday. Beautiful words and capture Mama Glow - Birthday. Beautiful words and capture of @sopharush and her newborn.
・・・
“I had a really hard time connecting with Bronx the moment he came into this world. I’m not sure what it was that caused me to feel the way I felt. I didn’t have a traumatic experience like my first delivery, but for some reason, I struggled with feeling like he was mine & I was his. I wasn’t dealing with postpartum depression like I had with Harlem, but I did have a gush of emotions that came following after his birth.
⠀
When Bronx came out, I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry so I did both. I couldn’t believe I had just became a mom of two. It just didn’t feel the same. My heart didn’t magically expand like I envisioned it would. I struggle with feeling that I wasn’t going to have the same love for my second born like I did the first. Of course I was excited to hold him & love him, but everything just felt so different.
⠀
It wasn’t until I had a mental breakdown two days after he was born. I didn’t realize how much I had built up inside of me, until I got a call from my midwife checking in. She asked me such a simple question, yet it triggered me to burst out in tears over the phone. She had me come in to see her so I could talk through my emotions. It was then & there, I was able to process through my whole birth experience.
⠀
I was able to sort through how I was feeling & to know that what I was feeling was normal & that I wasn’t alone in feeling how I felt. It was then I had some relief & peace knowing that the love I have for him would eventually come, which it did that day.
⠀
These photos captured such an intimate moment with my sweet boy. I laughed. I shed tears. I examined his little fingers & toes. Discovered birth marks. Kissed him for the first time. I connected with him one on one & it was everything this mama needed. We both needed. Now I can’t get enough & my heart’s expansion exceeded my expectations.” #motherhood

Mama Glow - Peace be still... Yes... this beauti Mama Glow - Peace be still...

Yes... this beautiful moment. Feeling whelmed. When you are astounded... looking down and holding the physical embodiment of one of the greatest accomplishments of your life.

Feeling whelmed... a flood of emotion, joy, elation, confusion, excitement, disbelief... tears streaming.

Feeling whelmed... feeling the warmth of this little one, the scent, gazing into their eyes, profound love for someone you’ve just met but known all along.
_
You did it. You are remarkable. You are now part of a lineage of birthing people who have done this before. You are now born into new motherhood.
_
You and your partner did it... together. Look at the love that lies before you.
_
Salute to all new born parents and their support systems. You can do it.
