Health Reporting Guidelines
We ground all of our health, nutrition, and fitness reporting in proper sourcing from a combination of authoritative experts, reputable organizations, peer-reviewed studies, and firsthand experiences. While we strive to keep our content updated, older articles may contain dated information or incomplete sourcing.
Subject Matter Experts
We consult with certified healthcare professionals—such as OB/GYNs, midwives, mental health counselors, dietitians, and fitness experts—whose credentials are clearly stated in each article. We regularly collaborate with experts who we believe are most qualified to speak to the specific issues we are covering. We vet our sources to ensure they’re credentialed in their area of expertise.
Public Health Organizations
We seek reputable health organizations to source information, such as the National Institutes of Health, the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention among others. We make clear what information comes from these sources.
Research Studies
We prioritize peer-reviewed studies, systematic reviews, and clinical guidelines published by reputable health organizations. We use recent medical and scientific studies in our health reporting. We aim to pull information from studies published within the last five years. We link out to the study we’re referencing whenever possible.
