SUMMARY:Holding Space: An Online Mental Health Circle for Doulas
DESCRIPTION:Holding Space is an inclusive\, online mental health support circle created exclusively for doulas who give deeply and deserve to be held\, too. This dedicated gathering offers a space to pause\, exhale\, and tend to your own emotional and mental well-being—while in community with peers who truly understand the heart and complexity of birth work. \nFacilitated in a nurturing and affirming environment\, Holding Space invites doulas to share openly\, reflect honestly\, and reconnect with themselves beyond the role of caregiver. Together\, we explore the full spectrum of this work—burnout\, grief\, joy\, boundaries\, sustainability\, and everything in between—without judgment or expectation to “be strong.” \nThis circle is not about fixing or performing. It is about being witnessed\, supported\, and reminded that your care matters\, too. \nTime & Date: Thursday\, Apr 30 at 7:00-8:30 PM \nInvestment: Free for Mama Glow Doulas \n$25.00 for everyone else \n  \nMeet Your Facilitator: Jamilla Jackson Kelly \nAs a wife and boy mom of 2\, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor\, Birth and Postpartum Doula\, Jamillah Jackson Kelly enjoys supporting others on a variety of life paths. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Spanish and Sociology from Georgetown University and a Masters of Science and Specialist in Education Degree in Couples and Family Counseling from the University of NC at Greensboro. Through Mama Glow\, Jamillah is trained as both a Birth and Postpartum Doula and a First Foods Justice Advocate; she is also trained as a Birth Doula through DONA International. With her varied experiences in the last 20 years of working in a domestic violence shelter\, county jail\, methadone clinic\, 24/7 behavioral health crisis line\, and now private practice\, Jamillah’s holistic and nonjudgmental orientation enables her to meet her clients where they are on their path. Jamillah fully believes and supports that we all have a right to show up authentically as our true selves and be respected as such. When we all have room to show up holistically\, we can survive and heal from our worst days and thrive into creating our best days.
