SIX is the first book from the series and features the paintings of Katherine Bradford. Bradford playfully explores repetition in her paintings and children will love identifying what sort of thing is being repeated (is it a boat? a swimmer? a buoy?) while also becoming more familiar with counting. For little ones, this is a beautiful introduction to the world of numbers. For toddlers and older children, the content of the paintings leave a lot of room for discussion and thought beyond the pages of the book.

Every time you buy a book from the Mini Museum Series, you support arts education in schools that need it the most. 5% of all profits are donated to the LilySarahGrace Fund, a non-profit that provides grants to struggling public schools to support child-centered learning and creativity in the classroom.

SIX is printed locally with eco-friendly practices. The book is available at homegrownbookync.com and retails for $9.95.

Meet the Walnut Animal Society: Henry the Fox, Chester the Raccoon, Margaux the Kitty, Ruthie the Deer, Eleanor the Bear and Magnolia the Bunny. Each character is uniquely oversized, charmingly timeless, and always relatable to the young personalities they will accompany. Walnut Animal Society was founded by Lauren Bradshaw, who first gained notoriety for helping re-popularize the craft of needle felting. Through that experience, Lauren developed a distinctive and illustrative style – a style which seemed to long for larger, more huggable characters. Thus began Walnut Animal Society – a collection of stuffed animals that are both thoughtfully designed and masterfully crafted by hand. As a designer, Lauren created original patterns that are charmingly timeless and appealing to animal lovers of all ages. As a mother, Lauren made sure the animals are safe for children and the environment. The resulting collection is suitable for the most imaginative of children and the most discerning collectors of handmade dolls.

Each Walnut Animal Society member is patiently and lovingly handcrafted in the USA, using natural and locally-sourced materials whenever possible. Not only does this mean they meet the highest standard of quality, but also that no two society members are exactly alike. And despite their charming good looks, Walnut Animal Society members aren’t just for display – these animals are durable enough to withstand years of companionship.

The animals retail for $168 and are available on the website and specialty boutiques.
