Glow Worthy Books: Trombone Shorty!

Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, who got his nickname name from playing a trombone twice his size, was a prodigy, leading his own band by age six. Now a Grammy-nominated artist and four-time New Orleans Jazz Fest headliner, Troy is dedicated to giving back to the community that brought him up, paying it forward to the next generation of up and coming musicians.
His incredible, inspiring story is celebrated in the 2016 Caldecott and Coretta Scott King (Illustrator) Honor-recognized Trombone Shorty, the book  — showcasing his musical journey to international stardom in a beautiful picture book. It’s a beautiful story about passion and perseverance and beating the odds.
The Trombone Shorty Foundation‘s mentorship program works directly with disadvantaged young musicians in New Orleans, to keep them playing, dreaming, focused, and business savvy. They have reached 500 kids so far and with your help, they can keep this number growing. A portion of the book’s proceeds go to the foundation.
