Cleansing for Pregnancy: GlowTip #1 Stay Hydrated
The following guidelines will first help you get to the place where you are releasing the old buildup from your system—letting it all go. Then they’ll start to build your body back up for glow time: your pregnancy! Remember your baby is made up of what you eat now, not just what you eat during pregnancy. Your body will pull nutrients from your tissues to develop your baby.
Healthy detox components include the following: colon cleansing, moderate exercise, relaxation, meditation, cleaning out your home, organizing your life, spending time in nature, experiencing therapeutic touch, and processing and healing personal issues. Start doing things today that will matter tomorrow. Don’t put off your quest. You’ll never have more time than you do right now. You owe it to yourself, cleansing for pregnancy is about preparing the space. Let’s go! Follow these recommendations to get lean, mean, clean, and ready for your baby.
GlowTip #1: Stay Hydrated
Our bodies are 70 to 75 percent water. And our brains are 85 percent water! It is water that energizes and activates the solid matter—our bones, muscles, connective tissue, and so on. If you don’t drink enough water, some functions of the body will suffer. Dehydration produces system disturbances. A well-hydrated body will ensure better digestion, increased assimilation of nutrients, and a robust metabolism. You also need adequate water to produce reproductive fluids. Glow foods like fresh fruits and veggies contain lots of water and help you stay hydrated. Watermelon, celery, and cucumbers are a great way to get more water in your system. Coconut water, a glow food, qualifies as an excellent tonic for hydration, electrolytes, and trace minerals that come directly from the sea, and it’s reputed to increase libido. Your pregnancy will require extra fluid so why not get in the habit of drinking well now? Also make sure your water comes from a clean source. Try the SOMA water filter for affordable water filtration.
Start your day the hydrated way.
Wake-up Tonic: First thing in the morning, squeeze the juice from half a lemon into 8 ounces of room- temperature filtered water and drink. If you want to take it a step further, add some liquid chlorophyll to the mix. Chlorophyll is like plant blood and it regulates your blood sugar. World Organics or DeSouza make great organic versions. Just watch out for your outfit—the chlorophyl will stain anything it comes in contact with.
